Being a journalist is not an easy task. Like any other professional they follow strict roles and responsibilities. They carry these out along with all the essentials aspects of this career to be succeed in this field. They usually work in various areas regarding about life, current events, disaster, and the likes. They find the information behind the stories and then present them to the public. Their task depends on what organization they belong to. When they are under a large organization they normally handles only one task at a time because they have vast staff and manpower whereas in small organization they have do different task because of the small number of manpower and staff.

For most people there are various reasons why they want to become a journalist. Be it a desire to be known, for money, having the desire to influence others, the desire to write, or seeking more knowledge. They may all have different goals but they all have the same duties and that is to serve the people. Recognizing that they choose this career to take up the role as the servant of the people is what makes one the best journalist. Sharing the information to the public helps every people improve their way of life in some way. This information is carried out through the journalists' writings. They also defend people rights and become the voice to those who don't have one. Knowledge is obtained through information. This is why journalists make sure that they share only relevant and accurate information to the public.

To become a successful journalist, having a desire is not enough. They should also need to develop certain skills and special qualities. Journalists have the ability to watch their surroundings, find things out, and share their discoveries with the public. They are prepared to learn something new. This means, that they constantly building up their knowledge on many things. Skills are important especially when it come writing but it should be simple and not complicated. This means that it should easily be understood by anyone. They can venture beyond its limits and start to develop their own style once they have mastered the basic news story format.

A journalist should also be responsible on what they write. In this manner, they make sure that they have gotten the information from the reliable and trustworthy source. Trust is hard to earn especially when it comes from the public. To be able to gain the trust of the public they should provide them with factual, relevant, and accurate information. They should also have the ability to know what needs to present and what should be left out. There is some information that is too sensitive to be presented to the public because it might cause chaos or can endanger the lives of those who are involved.

To become a more responsible journalist, training is always available. Every journalist plays a big role on the society which is why they should become a good example especially to their fellow media professionals. They should help the public become more vigilant on what goes on around them.
