How To Write A Book

By David Gray

Writers would somehow agree that the most difficult part in creating a novel would be to start it because once the flow of the story is there, then things would just come out naturally. Of course if one would want to start with his novel, then he will first need an outline. For those who want to create this kind of material, here are good tips on how to write a book.

Now when one has the idea in his mind already, all he has to do would be to create the story flow. In order to do this, he has to first create the setting which would consist of the place of his story as well as the timeline. Another thing that he would have to make would be the major and minor characters which would include the protagonist, antagonist, supporting characters, and extras.

Now when one has already finished this, then he may move on to create the flow of his story by making use of an outline that will help him have proper coherence. Now the traditional flow of events would actually be of course the intro of the main characters, then the build up of this story, then the big climax wherein a twist would usually happen which would be followed by the conclusion. With this model, one can make an outline first and just fill up the details after.

Now in the first chapter, the author would usually be introducing the characters and describing the place that the characters are staying in. This is basically giving the readers an overview of the life of the protagonist. This is done so that the readers can get to know the hero more and see what his background is.

Now after the protagonist and some of the other characters have been introduced, then the antagonist will most likely be introduced next. In this stage, the author has already reached the climbing stage which would consist of a conflict that the protagonist has to resolve. The antagonist, of course, is trying to stop the protagonist from doing so.

Now when the story would start to pick up the pace, then it is heading for the climax part wherein the main battle of the hero would begin. Readers would all agree that the climax is the most blood pumping part as this is where the resolution would come in. It is the part that leads directly to the resolution.

Of course in this very stage, there might also be a twist that would happen as well. Now a twist is an unexpected event that would happen in the story that would affect the way that the story would turn out. It would usually happen during the climax but sometimes before.

The final part is the conclusion or the resolution part. In this stage, the hero has already resolved the conflict that he was trying to fix. Then it will be the choice.of the author to give the hero a happy ending or a bad one.
