Domestic Abuse And Its Signs

By Andrea Davidson

Domestic abuse is a certain pattern of behavior which involves the abuse by one partner to another in an intimate relationship such as marriage, dating or within the family. This may happen to everyone, yet the problem is often overlooked, excused and denied. This is often true especially when it happens to be psychological and not physical.

Each person is eligible to live a free life without having fear especially the person they love. If you begin to notice little signs of such relationships, you must learn to stand up and manage about ways to control and end it. If this happens to some important people around you, you must do your best to extend your hand for them and allow them to lean on you when they need you.

The most visible sign of an abuse is when you begin to fear your partner. When you feel that you are unsecured and uncomfortable living with them, there is indeed a problem. It might be characterized by isolation, intrusion, jealousy, possession and too much controlling as well.

A possible batterer may have his reasons. Jealousy might be on top of it. Such people often misunderstand jealousy and love. They control the behavior of the victim entirely. They do not allow them to see them giving time for others. They may even ask some close friends to look over the innocent victim unknowingly whenever he or she would go out.

Cheating or being disloyal is often accused to a victim. They often mandate their partners to stop all relationships with her or his female or male friends. They can even show up in the workplace of the certain victim. Suspicion has been the reason for it. Each person deserves to be loved, respected, trusted and treated as special rather than dealing with such people who will tend to take over their lives and their privacy.

If you noticed that they are starting to threaten you and the people you love, you must leave immediately before the whole situation gets worse. They may start with several screaming and would later escalate to some life threatening violence. They can also start to threat themselves as well. They will use care as their weapon.

When your partner starts to isolate you from the realities of the world, you should always think properly. They might even force you to abandon some people just because they do not like them entering into your lives. They would not permit you to go out as well. Always seek help in these situations and look for someone who can support you throughout.

They might as well stalk you to places that you wish to go. It may be flattering that someone adores you, but not to the point of being stalked. The experience is much terrifying. You will definitely live in fear for all your life. Always remember that stalking is a crime. Report these people immediately.

Domestic abuse will often lead to burning, cutting, biting and other physical abuses that could be done. Everyone is much deserving of living a life that is free from intimidation and violence. If you have an abusive partner, you will never obtain it. Do not hesitate to stand up for yourself and speak freely. If necessary, discuss matters calmly together with your partner to avoid ending up to other forms of abuse.
