Science Fiction Comic Book Authors Are Real People

By Gloria Mason

Human beings are always drawn to very interesting science fiction comic book authors. The writers of these stories know how to capture a reader's imagination and never let it go. They are people who have a very special gift that should be fully shared with this world. Billy Mumy knows exactly how to get someone's attention and he has been doing this for years. He started his acting career at an early age and people in America are very fortunate to have him.

On February 1, 1954 the state of California welcomed Charles William Mumy, Jr. Into this great big world. He was a young man who would have many accomplishments when it came to acting, music and a variety of other things. Television fans know him as the smart child named William Robinson on the hip 1960's show "Lost In Space".

Mr. Mumy was always known best for his red hair and freckles and this gained him attention from many Hollywood producers. On the series "Lost In Space" he played the youngest child of the Robinson family. Marta Kristen and Angela Cartwright portrayed his sisters on this show. Other cast members included Mark Goddard, Guy Williams, Jonathan Harris and the amazing June Lockhart.

Fans first recognized him in the "Twilight Zone" series when he starred in the episode "It's A Good Life". People were often terrified of him for this particular episode since he played a little boy who could do horrible things to individuals who did not like him. In other words he portrayed a very spoiled little brat with incredible powers.

The parents on this episode were very passive and they would let this child kill anyone who was seen as judgmental. One of the lead characters on this show met his final destruction when he was turned into a child's toy. It is one of the most terrifying scenes on television.

Young Billy grew a very strong and lasting friendship with his onscreen sisters Angela and Marta. They would often hang out together when time allowed them to do so. Years later the trio are still very close and this has enriched all of their lives. When he is writing Billy makes sure to always place everyone into his books.

His cartoon drawings are very interesting since the characters are developed very intensely. There are erotic tales which involve his sisters and the dashing Major Don West. Penny is now grown up in many of these tales and she has turned into a very sexy vixen. Don, Penny, Judy, Maureen and John are all given major story lines within these novels. The producers involved on the original series did not want to write for these characters since they were only devoted to Dr. Smith.

Billy Mumy makes all science fiction comic book authors look very good to their fans. He takes the time to attend almost every convention and talk to people about his upcoming tales and outer space plot lines.
